Influenced by DJs like Axwell, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Max Vangeli, DJ Seelo’s passion for house music wasn’t always this way. He grew up off Hip Hop in the Windsor/Detroit area where he spent 17 years of his life. Seelo still throws in the odd remix of a hip-hop track here and there in his sets. He was born in the small country of Lebanon and moved to Canada when he was 5 years old. In 2007, he moved to Edmonton where his love for house music grew. He has opened up for some of the biggest names in the game like Morgan Page, Roger Sanchez, Wolfgang Gartner, Cold Blank, Will.I.Am Steve Duda (BSOD) and Deadmau5.

Q: How did you get started?
A: I was making bedroom mix tapes and they ended up in the hands of one of the local DJ’s at the club. I was asked if I wanted to work at the club doing the warm up sets. I so began my career as a DJ and producer.
Q: What kind of music do you play? How versatile you are? What do you enjoy playing the most?
A: As of lately I have been playing House and mash up’s and I am very versatile as I do nights playing Top 40, Hip-hop, House, Retro (80’s & 90’s), Latin, Reggaeton and everything in between. What I like to focus on mostly is House and electronica style, but do enjoy the other nights where I play all forums of music.
Q: How would you describe your personal look/style?
A: Trendy and grounded
Q: How did you get where you are?
A: Talent, networking and work ethic.
Q: How do you motivate a crowd and get a party started? (Cut to a scene of one of the major parties you did)
A: The majority of what to get a party started is in the music I play and having an ability to read a room. I like to call it music psychology.
Q: What is the largest venue you have played?
A: The largest crowd would be close to 15000 people.
Q: Where are you heading with your career?
A: I am moving more and more into touring and producing my own stuff.
Q: What is your ultimate gig?
A: Playing some of the major festivals around the world such as WMC, ADE and Brazil.
Q: What are your top 3 songs on your playlist?
A: I don’t really have a Top 3 list. I like to keep it fresh on all my nights and events. Some of my top tracks are just updated remixes of old tunes and then there are times I play the top charted tracks.
Q: Who is someone you would most love to collaborate with?
A: There are plenty of collaborations I would like, if I had to pick I would say Roger Sanchez, Deadmau5, Jazzy Jeff.
